​were followed by the big parade via the Beacon Centre, ​Terminus Road, the Pier,  Leaf Hall and on to the
Royal Hippodrome Theatre.

After the parade we saw traditional Chinese entertainment and an amazing show of Chinese dancing and music performed by Goldsmiths College London at the Royal Hippodrome Theatre.  ​

Huge Chinese flags, dragons and lions paraded through the town to the Pier and the 
​Royal Hippodrome Theatre
for Traditional Chinese blessings and entertainment.

COSMO MEAL FOR FOUR
People responded from London, Worthing, Kent and even Scotland and one lucky family won a meal for four people at Cosmo's Chinese Resturant in Eastbourne.

Colourful Chinese drummers and dancers paraded through Eastbourne , with local dragon dancers from Willingdon Community School,  Bourne School, St Catherine's College, Bede's School, Cherry Dance, Weird Feet, Peacehaven Martial Arts, the Police Cadets, the Sea Cadets, All Souls Cubs, Eastbourne Mencap and Defiant Sports.

Led by the Worshipful Mayor of Eastbourne, Jill Mattock, and the MP, Stephen Lloyd with representatives of the Chinese Community of East Sussex and the Chamber of Commerce, this exciting, cross cultural community event drew thousands of people to watch. 
The 
Queen's Representative, the Lord Lieutenant of Sussex, Peter Field joined Councillor Lu Haitian from the Chinese Embassy at the Chinese Extravaganza at the Royal Hippodrome Theatre after the Parade.

The Big Parade Route

Join us in Eastbourne next year to enjoy the Chinese New Year with professional dragon and lion dancers from all over the country parading with dragon dancers from Eastbourne's community.  Join the procession from Bankers Corner to the Royal Hippodrome Theatre on the route mapped out below for an Chinese entertainment on the Hippodrome's historic stage. 

If your organisation is interested in participating in the parade in 2020 we have Chinese dragons available for you to use and can show you the basics of dancing with these mythical creatures made especially for us in China.

Scouts, guides, cubs and brownies, schools, cadets, dance groups and community groups are all welcome.  Any age groups are welcome.  (Young children must be accompanied by their parents.)
